Reef Bloom is a sculptural meditation on organic repetition, hidden detail and the quiet complexity found within coral ecosystems and botanical forms.
Composed of twenty-five individually crafted relief elements, the piece brings together an intricate collection of coral-inspired blooms arranged in a balanced grid-like composition that feels both structured and softly organic. At first glance, the palette appears calm and understated — layered in delicate tones of cream, stone, soft beige and muted grey — yet closer observation gradually reveals subtle flashes of hidden colour woven throughout the sculptural surfaces.
Hints of blush pink, mineral green, burnt orange, pale blue and warm gold emerge quietly from within the textures, creating moments of discovery that shift with changing light and perspective. At the centre of the composition, a softly radiant gold-toned bloom introduces a gentle focal point, adding warmth and a jewellery-like luminosity to the work.
Each sculptural form is individually mounted to create depth and dimensional movement across the surface. As natural light moves throughout the day, intricate shadows form between the layered details, transforming the artwork into an evolving interplay of texture, light and negative space.
